Gillian founded Performance in February 2012 as she sought to offer the market commercially focused and practical HR services and advice. Completing her Bachelor Degree in Human Resources, Gillian secured her first senior HR Management position in Brisbane in 2005 before completing an Executive MBA in 2009.
A self-declared AFL tragic, Gillian made the move to Melbourne to pursue her career and love for everything sport. Gillian believes sport to be a universal language and finds sporting analogies to be one of the best ways to communicate many Business and HR concepts. Picking the audience and theme, Gillian mixes this up with some musical theatre or home building analogies.
Gillian is passionate about Human Resources and the potential to have a measurable impact on a business’ bottom line. Her logical, practical and researched HR intelligence provides options to clients to achieve business results and outcomes whilst giving due consideration to internal factors such as compliance and culture. HR initiatives implemented which have proven to have a positive impact on our client’s businesses include role clarity and accountability programs, self-funding incentive programs, cascading KPIs relating to business goals and internal development programs.
Gillian’s expertise spans Human Resources and Business Consulting. She enjoys partnering with business owners and Executive teams alike to understand strategy, structure and operational processes. Gillian has had success in redesigning structure, processes and role accountabilities to achieve outcomes including customer experience, business efficiencies and cost savings.
As Performance HR Director, Gillian finds it incredibly rewarding to experience the sense of satisfaction that comes with completing a project and genuinely making a positive impact across a wide variety of industries that span wholesale, retail, manufacturing, logistics through to the more unique businesses including an Auction House, Music Festival, Sporting Club and Recreation Facility.
Gillian is known to be straight talking, easy going and enjoys a laugh. Gillian leads the Performance HR team to be 100% client and relationship focused, thoughtfully opinionated and deadline driven.
